Jammu, Sept 15: Maharishi Dayanand Sarswati Chair of Central University of Jammu today released a book on the Social Philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati edited by Chair Professor Raj K. Mahajan. The book was released by Farooq Khan, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice-chancellor, Central University of Jammu. The other dignitaries who were present on this launch ceremony were Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director, JKSCSTBCDC and faculty members of Central University of Jammu.
Swami Dayanand was one of the greatest leaders of Indian renaissance, social reformer, patriot saint and religious leader of the nineteenth century. He propagated the principle of ‘equality among all human beings’ and ‘equal opportunities to all’ irrespective of caste and sex. Besides Swamiji’s tremendous contribution to build modern India, there is dearth of research on the social philosophy of Swami Dayanand Sarswati. This book is a humble attempt to fulfil that gap.
His social philosophy is inclusive, including all castes, gender and classes. He advocated a system in which there is equality and dignity of all persons, attainment of knowledge, and welfare of people.
