JKSSB withdraws 1000 posts, remains silent on fee paid by aspirants
9/15/2020 11:44:28 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) has withdrawn over 1000 posts advertised by it but it has so far been silent on the issue of returning the fee paid by candidates to fill up the application forms.
The JKSSB vide order number No. SSB/Secy/Sel/2020/3216-28 dated 10/9/2020 had withdrawn a total of 1005 posts of various departments and the notice issued under subject reads, “Withdrawing of posts of various departments advertised under SRO 202 dated:-30-06-2015.”
The notice further reads, “In pursuance of the instructions conveyed by the General Administration Department in terms of the Government Order No.654-JK (GAD) of 2020 dated 19-06-2020, the posts mentioned in Annexure “A” (which comprised various posts in various departments) to this notification, are hereby withdrawn for referring back to the GAD for further necessary action”. The withdrawal of posts has left thousands of job aspirants in lurch and many have been not getting any satisfactory reply from the JKSSB authorities. “I had filled four application forms and for each form I had paid Rs. 350 as fee and in total I had paid Rs. 1400. After the withdrawal of posts, where my money has gone and whether the JKSSB would return it?” asked an aspirant, adding that there were large number of unemployed youth, who had filled the forms for various posts.
Though JKSSB authorities have been unable to provide details about the exact number of aspirants who had filled the forms but as per an estimate over 50,000 aspirants would have filled the application forms as many have filled more than two application forms. “As per a rough estimate the form of fee collected by the JKPSC could be in crores. This fee must be returned,” an aspirant said, adding that on one hand Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has been boasting of starting new era of development in Jammu and Kashmir but on the other the minimum posts advertised have been withdrawn and there was no further development over the recruitment scenario.
An official of JKSSB pleading anonymity said that it was the JKGAD which had withdrawn the posts and the JKSSB authorities were unaware about what to do with the fee paid by the aspirants or about future of the posts.
Controller of Examination Musheer Ahmad Mirza didn’t pick up the phone for comments and the message sent to him didn’t get any response till the filing of this report.
