Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 19: The recent repatriation order for ReTs, RReTs issued by the School Education Department Jammu has created a stir among the teaching community across Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources told Early Times that ReTs appointed time to time vide Government Order NO. 396- Edu of 2000 dated 28-04-2000 clearly envisages that ReT candidates after the completion of five years of service are entitled to be appointed as general line teachers in Education Department and constitute one class. They have to be treated equally in all matters of governing their jobs.
“There is only cadre after five years appointment as Rehabars i.e. General Line Teacher under the Recruitment Rules. No discrimination of any sort has been drawn between the teachers appointed as GLTs after completion of 5 years of service as Rehbars in all the departments in the Union Territory,” they added. Astonishingly, the benefits of transfer policy are being illegally denied to such GLTs, the said action on the part of functionaries of the J&K UT seem to be arbitrary and is the utter violation of Article 14 as well as Article 21 of the Constitution of India, they informed. Not only this, even regarding IMPACT training, again discriminatory attitude is being meted out to RReTs as instead of providing training on the basis of Primary/ Middle/ High, the training is being provided on the basis of tag on the teachers like G2/G3, they said.
They further informed that humiliation and harassment is being faced by the teachers in the name of various tags of Surplus from teachers/ Masters/ Lectures/ Tag of SSA Head teachers from Masters / Tag of G2/G3 from Rehabars ( GLTs after five years) on the training of Teachers.
Despite repeated attempts to DSE Jammu couldn’t be contacted as she didn’t pick up her phone.
