Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 20: Team of health experts, rushed by the Union Government to control death rate and a surge in the Covid-19 positive cases, has reportedly expressed its anguish over the casual attitude being adopted by the health authorities in dealing with pandemic in Jammu province.
Credible sources said that while reviewing steps taken by the health department to deal Covid-19 in Jammu province, the central team expressed that those at the helm of the affairs were playing with the lives of the people by adopting a non-serious approach.
Centre has rushed a team of experts only after observing that the situation in Jammu district had gone out of control due to inhuman and casual approach of the health authorities. “While reviewing the function of dedicated Covid hospitals, the central team was surprised to see the facilities provided to the patients, who have been left at the mercy of the God”, sources said.
Credible sources said that the central team sounded their higher-ups at Delhi that the situation was going to be further aggravated in Jammu district due to the approach of the authorities. “It was only after feedback from the central team that some steps were taken to save the lives of Corona patients”, sources said.
Official handout said that the Central team headed by Director NCDC, Dr. S.K. Singh and comprising Joint Director NCDC, Dr. Kinnzin, Associate Prof Medicine (Pulmonologist) AIIMS Dr. Vijay Handa and Dr Mahesh Waghmare, IDSP, New Delhi, discussed the steps to be taken for containment and control of the spread of COVID-19.
