Jaish’s terror plot foiled; weapons dropped by drone seized in Akhnoor
9/23/2020 12:03:17 AM
Early Times Report

Akhnoor, Sept 22: Failing to penetrate the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB), pan-Islamic terror outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammad, is now using drones to drop arms and ammunition from across the border into Indian side to sabotage peace in the region.
One such sinister plot of Pakistan and it’s proxy JeM to drop weapons via drone received major jolt today following the seizure of two consignments of arms and ammunition by joint operation group of police and Army in SohanKhud area of Akhnoor sector.
It was an interception of chatter between Jaish ultras and their mentors sitting across the border that had alerted police and other intel agencies in Jammu region. ‘’Because of credible inputs our men were on high alert to thwart any nefarious design,’’ informed Sreedhar Patil, SSP Jammu.
Last night vigilant cops heard the sound of a drone hovering over Akhnoor skies. Without wasting time men in khaki rushed towards the spot. By the time cop reached there, the drone took off dropping two packets of weapons in that area. “From these packets, we recovered two AK 47 assault rifles, three magazines, 90 live AK rounds and one pistol,’’ said SSP Jammu.
Investigations reveal that this consignment was meant for Jaish terrorists operating in Kashmir Valley. Besides this police and security agencies are looking for local Jaish operatives, who were assigned with the task of lifting consignment from the given spot and hand it over to terror organisation. In most of the cases, it has been found that via WhatsApp and social media these operatives normally remain in touch with their Pakistani counterparts to ensure that consignment of weapons does not fall into the hands of security agencies.
During the last few months Pakistani spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), is frequently using drones to pump in the consignment of drugs, arms and ammunition inside India. Since January 1 this year, four incidents of arms dropping by drone from Pakistan side has come to light.
On June 20, a Pakistani drone, loaded with a sophisticated rifle and some grenades, was shot down by the BSF along the international border in Hira Nagar area of Kathua district.
It was the first one of such incidents in the Jammu region, where a drone carrying arms and explosives was shot down by the BSF. A highly sophisticated rifle, two magazines, 60 rounds and seven grenades were the payload on the drone that was meant to be delivered to Pakistani agents.
A few days back again Pakistan successfully managed to drop arms and ammunition in Samba sector. The lid was blown off this sinister plot when security forces during routine checking intercepted a truck carrying arms and ammunition near Jawahar tunnel and arrested two people.
During an interrogation of the duo, investigating sleuths came to know that they had collected consignment of arms fromSamba industrial area where the same was dropped via drone. These drones are designed in such a manner that they can carry a heavy load and penetrate more than 12 km.
Again three days back Jammu and Kashmir arrested three terrorists in the Rajouri sector and from their possession recovered huge quantities of arms and ammunition that was again dropped by drone.
In 2019, Punjab Police had recovered Pakistani drones which were used to airdrop arms and ammunition in the border areas of the state. The BSF had also spotted many drones in the state along the international border.
There are inputs that Pakistan is also planning to use drones to drop bombs at the security establishments near the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s RS Pura and Samba sectors. Keeping in view these inputs security agencies along IB and LoC are on high alert to thwart the ugly design of ISI.
