KAS officer among several Govt employees tested COVID positive in Kishtwar

Jammu, Sept 25: A KAS officer among several Government officials continue to test positive for COVID 19 in Kishtwar District and majority of these employees were directly or indirectly linked to ongoing Government mass public gathering program of Block Diwas which is underway in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for which the government has already notified the list of Senior IAS, IFS and KAS officers who are schedule to visit in Panchayats to listen to public grievances during Back to Village Phase III.
As per the details available with Early Times, KAS officer today tested positive for COVID 19 while at the same time employees from personnel section of ACD Kishtwar, District Panchayat Office Kishtwar today tested positive for COVID 19 along with several other RDD Employees, Revenue employees were among the employees who tested positive for COVID in Kishtwar in last few days.
The officials told the Early Times that overall 5 KAS officer including two senior officials in the administration has tested positive in Kishtwar District added that though two senior KAS officials have recovered from the COVID 19, but both had yet to resume their duties since both are going through physical weakness phase and were not in position to resume their duties.
The officials also informed that around 16-18 employees alone tested positive in Tehsildar Kishtwar office while at the same time around 10-12 Patwari’s of revenue department also tested positive for COVID and majority of them are directly part of the government initiative to provide domicile, income certificates during various public grievances camp.
As far as health department is concerned, more than two dozen health officials- mostly from District Hospital Kishtwar including two senior Doctors, lab technicians and other hospital staff- thus adding further concern towards already paralysed health system in the District.
Majority of the government officials who tested positive for COVID 19 in Kishtwar District had taken part in various public programs organized in the District in last few weeks.
