Discrimination with Jammu region continues even in LG’s rule
Proposal seeks 690 posts for Plus 2 lectures in Jammu, 2225 in Kashmir

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 25: The discrimination with Jammu region is continuing even in Lieutenant Governor’s (LG’s) rule.
The discrimination was evident recently when a proposal for the creation of posts of Plus 2 lecturers was put forward. According to the proposal Jammu province has got only 690 posts, while Kashmir province has got 2225 posts for higher secondary schools.
Though the matter was brought to limelight by none other than Principal Secretary School Education department but it was strongly objected by Director School Education Jammu, who alleged that the proposal for Jammu schools was not forwarded by her office and the requirements of Jammu schools for different subjects are more than 2000 posts.
According to reports, the Principal Secretary SED shared a tweet on his official twitter handle which reads, “....introducing new subjects in school education department and ongoing subjects in more schools”. The Principal Secretary had shared the details of posts on the basis of region as well as subject wise distribution but as per documents shared, Kashmir province has got 1959 posts of Plus 2 lecturers for ongoing subjects while 266 posts for new subjects which totals to 2225 posts, while Jammu province had got merely 318 posts for ongoing subjects while 372 posts for new subjects which account to 690 posts. The Director School Education Jammu Anuradha Gupta strongly reacted to the tweet and openly confronted the Principal Secretary and tweeted, “Sir this is not my proposal. Who has signed it? I was in Reasi yesterday as per your directions. Our requirement is more than 2000 posts in different subjects. Will send the actual proposal today. Thanks sir”.
“It is a serious question. If DSEJ has not send the proposal then who changed the proposal and attempted to deprive Jammu region of its share? It is still unknown as whether the School Education Department would accept the actual requirements of 2000 posts, sent by DSEJ or not or the lobby working against the Jammu would prevail”, an official said, adding that the LG’s administration should order an enquiry against the officials involved in discriminating with Jammu region.
As per proposal allegedly forwarded by Jammu as well as Kashmir Director Office, 93 posts for Arabic, 125 Biochemistry, 132 Biotechnology, Commerce 167, Computer Science 147, Electronics 126, EVS 163, Geography 74, Islamic Studies 150, Kashmiri 122, Psychology 61, Public Administration 223, Statistics 100, Functional English 150, Home Science 100, Sociology 114, Maths 50, Philosphy 58, Political Science 63, Economics 5, Geology 2, Urdu 11, History 5, Hindi 1, Dogri 5, Agriculture 1, Applied Mathematics 3, Food Technology 2 posts.
