Cong student wing at crossroads in J&K
Activist level allegations of nepotism, favouritism against two leaders
10/1/2020 12:57:40 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 30: The growing discontentment among ranks and files in Congress Party has trickled down to the student wing also.
A student activist leveling serious allegations against two leaders has opened the Pandora’s Box. The activist has blamed these leaders for promoting nepotism and favouritism. He has also accused him of discouraging the new leadership in Jammu and Kashmir.
Zubair Ahmed Lone, a student activist of the grand old party, in a social media post has alleged a nexus between two leaders (a youth wing leader and other is former leader who is now in Pradesh Congress Committee). He has alleged that these people are maliciously stopping the youth and student activists from taking up key leadership roles in J&K and at the national level. As per letter it has been alleged that the student wing had recently announced a list of national coordinators, wherein every State/Union Territory was represented by 4-6 coordinators but in case of Jammu and Kashmir, they have not appointed a single national coordinator, except one female, who lives in Mumbai and has hardly visited Jammu and Kashmir. “She was nominated to handle Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally they (two youth wing leaders from Jammu and Kashmir) did deliberately postpone the elections of J&K student wing for almost two years without any concrete reason. They misled the leadership”, the social media post reads.
It is further alleged that the Youth Wing leaders in J&K are indulging in all these activists (mostly unfair and discriminatory in nature) under the guidance of a national level leader, who hails from J&K. “They do not allow anyone to come up with the ideas and they stop people especially youth and students from taking part in leadership. They do it because they do not want anyone to take their place at any point in future and it is evident from the recent list of national coordinators announced recently by ...........(state level leader), where they have not appointed a single student activist from J&K as national coordinator except a girl from Mumbai, which is surprising”, it reads.
Moreover, they (two leaders) have discontinued already appointed national coordinators from J&K. “Their main purpose is to stay at important positions within party. Their acts are stopping the revival of the grand old party in Jammu and Kashmir. These two leaders are stopping youth from getting appointed/elected to important positions”, the post alleged, adding that the J&K party level leader who hails from Poonch failed to enroll even a single student in the party during the membership drive.”
“............Choudhary could not make a single active member from his district or it is high possibility that he deliberately did so to stop activists joining student wing of party, who could be threat to his political career in future”, it reads, and appealed party leadership to take lead in reviving the party and save it from photoshoot leaders.
