Crime Branch produces charge sheet against fraudster

JAMMU, Oct, 23: Crime Branch Jammu produced preliminary charge sheet against an accused involved in duping unemployed youth on the pretext of arranging government jobs for them.
The challan was presented against accused Mohd Syed Shah, son of Bhaw-Ud-Din Shah of Budshami Nagar, Natipura Srinagar at present Dangiwacha Baramulla in case FIR No 47/2019 U/S 420 RPC of P/S Crime Branch Jammu in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Jammu and is further committed to Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu.
The accused is presently under judicial custody after his arrest was affected by Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in duping unemployed youth of Jammu of an amount of Rs 7 lakh on the pretext of arranging government jobs.
In a written complaint lodged by the complainants Vikas Sharma, son of Kulwant Raj of Sungal Tehsil Akhnoor, Pardeep Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Sandal Tehsil Chowki Choura, Sanjay, son of Lal Chand of Mawa Brahmana, Akhnoor, District Jammu with Crime Branch, Jammu, alleging therein that being unemployed they had paid in cash Rs 2.50 lakh, Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively to the accused Mohd Syed Shah, who claimed to be working on the post of Agriculture Assistant in J&K Agriculture Department, for arranging their appointments on permanent basis in Secretariat at Srinagar, but neither the accused got them appointed as promised nor did he return their money.
As per procedure in vogue Crime Branch Jammu initiated a preliminary verification against the accused and during enquiry the allegations were prima-facie substantiated. Accordingly the instant case was registered under the relevant sections of law. During investigation, it was revealed that accused Mohd Syed Shah had cheated the complainants by impersonation and posing himself as Agriculture Asstt and the complainants were duped of their hard earned money to the tune of Rs 7 lakh fraudulently on the pretext of arranging government jobs for them. Sufficient evidence has been collected against the accused in the instant case. The accused has been arrested on 26.08.2020, who is under judicial custody and lodged in District Jail Ambphalla, Jammu on judicial remand. Crime Branch Jammu has also contested his bail application which was then rejected by the Court of law.
