JK reports 455 fresh cases of Corona Virus, seven deaths in past 24 hours

SRINAGAR, Oct 31: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 455 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 94,785. With seven fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 1478.
Srinagar district reported 124 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 110 cases, Baramulla district 60 cases, Kupwara district 41 cases, Budgam district 21 cases, Ganderbal district 16 cases, Anantnag district 10 cases, Bandipora district nine cases, Pulwama and Kathua districts eight cases each, Rajouri and Udhampur districts seven cases each, Poonch, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban districts six cases each, Reasi district four cases, Kulgam district three cases, Shopian district two cases and Doda district one case.
Srinagar district reported four fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by two deaths in Jammu district and a death in Pulwama district. So far 983 virus related deaths have occurred in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 495 such deaths have taken place.
The Jammu & Kashmir through the media bulletin informed that 455 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 161 from Jammu division and 294 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 94,785. Also seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 864 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 287 from Jammu Division and 577 from Kashmir Division. Out of 94,785 positive cases, 6,419 are active positive, 86,888 have recovered and 1,478 have died; 495 in Jammu division and 983 in Kashmir division.
Out of 23, 03,954 test results available, 22, 09,169 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 56,702 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,895 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6,419 in isolation and 45,173 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 87,737 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 19,369 positive cases, 1,461 active positive, 17,551 recovered, 357 deaths; Baramulla has 6,006 positive cases, 1,391 active positive, 4,470 recovered, 145 deaths; Budgam has 5,995 positive cases, 275 active positive, 5,626 recovered, 94 deaths; Pulwama has 4,656 positive cases, 197 active positive, 4,378 recovered, 81 deaths; Kupwara has 4,460 positive cases, 424 active positive, 3,963 recovered, 73 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,234 positive cases, 220 active positive, 3,940 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 4,040 positive cases, 199 active positive, 3,795 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,549 positive cases, 205 active positive, 3,312 recovered, 32 deaths; Kulgam has 2,485 positive cases, 90 active positive, 2,349 recovered, 46 deaths and Shopian has 2,202 positive cases, 97 active positive, 2,070 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 17,568 positive cases, 750 active positive, 16,561 recovered, 257 deaths; Rajouri has 3,197 positive cases, 65 active positive, 3,085 recovered, 47 deaths; Udhampur has 2,707 positive cases, 118 active positive, 2,557 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,655 positive cases, 120 active positive, 2,489 recovered, 46 deaths; Kathua has 2,447 positive cases, 64 active positive, 2,352 recovered, 31 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,253 positive cases, 210 active positive, 2,021 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,174 positive cases, 270 active positive, 1,879 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,915 positive cases, 97 active positive, 1,804 recovered, 14 deaths; Ramban has 1,596 positive cases, 79 active positive, 1,504 recovered, 13 deaths and Reasi has 1,277 positive cases, 87 active positive, 1,182 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 94,785 positive cases in J&K, 9,776 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
