Those seeking separation from India are secular
Secularism, Mustafa-Style

NEHA
JAMMU, June 25: Who is secular in Jammu & Kashmir? Who is communal in the state? Who is divisive? Who has been trying to divide Jammu & Kashmir on the basis of region, religion, caste and creed? National Conference additional general secretary Mustafa Kamaal has definite answers to these simple and straight questions? One simply needs to look at the statement he made on June 23 at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu, during the one-day youth convention to find answers.
If one goes by what Kamaal said, then one can say that all those who have been seeking separation of over-fed, over-pampered and highly prosperous Kashmir from the political and constitutional organization of India or those seeking to limit the jurisdiction of New Delhi over Jammu & Kashmir to just defence, foreign affairs and communications or those who have been seeking greater autonomy/semi-independence on the ground that the Kashmiri society has a distinct identity are secular and those opposing them and demanding empowerment through reorganization of the state are communal, divisive, chauvinist and regionalist.
If one goes by what he said, then one can say that those who condemn the Indian Army, Indian institutions and Indian laws and demand their withdrawal are secular and those who hail the Indian Army, the Indian institutions and the Indian laws and demand application of the Indian Constitution to the state in full, barring Article 370, are communal, divisive, regionalist, chauvinist?
If one goes by what he said, then one can say that those who have been seeking to communalise the society in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch and Rajouri districts in order to set up an autonomous Greater Kashmir are secular and those opposing them and demanding reorganization of the state on regional, as opposed to religious, basis are communal, regressive, reactionaries, backward-looking and divisive.
If one goes by what he said, then one say that those like NC MP Mehboob Beg who have been urging India to accept the Musharraf's Kashmir formula and use it as a launching pad are secular and those opposing them and urging New Delhi to integrate Jammu & Kashmir fully with India and reoccupy the state territories which have been under the illegal occupation of Pakistan are communal, divisive, chauvinist and what not.
If one goes by what he said, then one can say that those like permanent NC general secretary Sheikh Nazir who have been demanding "sovereignty" for Jammu & Kashmir on the basis of religion are secular and those opposing them and asking New Delhi to protect and advance further its sovereign power in Jammu & Kashmir by isolating and defeating Pakistan and its agents in Kashmir arte communal, divisive, chauvinist, regionalist and what not.
What is it that is going on in Jammu & Kashmir? There appears none in New Delhi who is prepared to call the NC's bluff and take on the likes of Kamaal who have unleashed a no-holds-barred propaganda blitz against New Delhi, as also against the neglected regions of the state, including Jammu Pradesh. There are many Kamaals in Kashmir who are subverting the Indian polity both from within and outside in the name of fake secularism and all of them need to be reined in. People of Jammu, barring a few agents of the NC, understand everything and that's the reason the NC has failed to establish its foothold here in this province. The problem is New Delhi and the people of Kashmir who have given legitimacy to what the NC has been preaching. However, one thing is very clear: The likes of Kamaal are only facilitating the task of those in Jammu Pradesh and Ladakh who have been seeking reorganization of the state in order to sever ties with Kashmir and the Kashmiri leadership.
