Poster making, slogan writing contests held at GCW Parade

JAMMU, Aug 7: As the world starts observing the 20th Breast Feeding Week from today, Home Science Department of the Government College for Women Parade Jammu proudly participated in the celebrations by holding a series of events.
Students participated in Poster Making, Slogan Writing and Quiz competition on Breast Feeding.
A lecture on "Importance of Breast Feeding" was delivered by Dr Hemla Aggarwal -the Chief Guest and Dr. A.K. Bararu (Nutritionist).
The session started with a welcome speech by Dr Shashi Kaul, who apprised the students about the Breast Feeding week celebration and the objectives set by UNICEF and WHO for the year.
Speaking on the occasion, the College Principal stressed on the importance of Breast Feeding in building a Strong, Emotional Bond between the Child and the Mother. Dr A K Bararu spoke about the Importance of Breast Feeding in the modern times and how bottle feeding can lead to various Infections and dental caries in Children.
The Prizes for all the three events, sponsored by Vodafone, were distributed by the Principal. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof Nidhi Kotwal.
