KISHTWAR, Aug 17: Acting on the disclosures made by the arrested Over Ground Worker (OGW)and close associate of Hizb Supreme Commander Mohammad Amin Butt alias Jahingir Saroori, Kishtwar police and army during the search operation in Lidri forest of Dachhan have busted a militant hideout used by Jahingir Saroori, who managed to escape from the spot before army and police could cordon off the area.
As reported earlier, Jahingir, who believed to have crossed over to Pakistan is now said to have returned back to Kishtwar and is active in upper reaches of the mountainous district i.e. Marwah and Dachhan. The sources said that Jahingir Saroori, who ex-filtrated to other side of the border for treatment of some unknown elementary disease has infiltrated few weeks ago.
Police sources said that Jahingir Saroori was using the hideout few days before Kishtwar police and army launched the operation on the bases of input given by Tanveer Hussain Genoo arrested by police from Chingham along with 3 lakh hawala money meant for Saroori.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar police has detained Hafeeza Begum alias Babli wife of slain HUJI Commander Dawood killed in an encounter with security forces in Checha area of Nagsini in Kishtwar District on February 4, 2010 along with five other persons including the father and brother of arrested OGW Tanveer Hussain Genoo. The sources said that other than Hafeeza, among the five other detained persons four were identified as Farooq Hussain (Brother of Tanveer), Ghulam Qadir (father of Tanveer), Kalil Bakerwal, Ashiq Hussain and one unidentified member of Bakerwal community. The sources said that Hafeeza Begum provides food to Jahingir Saroori as and when he (Jahingir) blows the whistle from the hideout which is dugout under the trunk of a tree leading to a narrow passage from adjacent cave. The sources said that as and when Hizb commander required food, he blows the whistle and said that on hearing the sound of the whistle, Hafeeza and others rush towards the hideout with cocked food. The sources said that when police and army did not found any signal given by the Hizb commander from inside the hideout rush to the spot and conducted the search along with help of Tanveer Hussain and five other detain persons and found Jahingir Saroori missing from the said hideout. During the search of the hideout, police and army find some stocks of food items. After busting the hideout used by the Hizb Supreme Commander, Army and police launched a search operation in nearby forest area to arrest the absconding Hizb commander. Police is likely to book all the detain persons under unlawful activities.
