8/19/2012 9:53:08 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19 : The chopper service to the Vaishno Devi cave shrine was suspended and the new track has been closed for pilgrimage due to inclement weather following heavy rains in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The chopper service from Katra base camp to Bhawan was suspended last evening and still cannot be resumed due to an inclement weather," police sources here said. They said due to heavy rains, it was not possible for the chopper to take the flight.
They further said the pilgrimage from the new track has also been stopped apprehending landslides. "
There are chances of landslides on new track and to avoid any untoward incidents, it has been closed and the yatris are advised to use old track for pilgrimage," police added. In July, one pilgrim was killed and six injured due to landslide on the new trac.
